Secrets of the Successful: I.M.A.G.E. - "A" is for what? Tips of the GREAT Men.

Image
I have shared to you previously the secrets of the successful, is IMAGE. An acronym that means I is for Innovation (if you haven't read it yet, read here ), M is for Mastery  (you can find it  here ) , the next letter is "A" . What is it for? "A" is for Authenticity. The old model of leadership, as I've mentioned before was very much about power you get from the authority of your position and the influence you'd have from a title, as you've now learned so well. But in this radically new period of business, your ability to have an impact and make a contribution comes more from who you are as a person than from the authority you receive by your placement on some org chart. It's never been so important to be trustworthy. It's never been so important to be someone others respect. It's never been so important to keep the promises you make to your teammates and customers. And it's never been so essential to be authentic. I should also...

Limitations - How A Man Responded To His Limitations Made Him To Be Oneof the RICHEST and Most Creative Men in History!

Image
He was rated "dull, slow, and impractical" by his teachers and was asked to leave college. Despite this negative start, he was awarded a patent for the rotary steam engine before he turned twenty. His next invention, a device that put derailed trails back on track, was purchased by virtually every railroad in his country. Before this man's creative life was over, he patented over four hundred inventions and amassed an industrial empire that few have equalled.  Even though he was disabled near the end of his life, he continued to invent, using his wheelchair to transport him from one project to another. He died surrounded by the sketches of his latest project - the motorized wheelchair. The man labeled as "impractical and dull" was named George Westinghouse. He refused to accept the negative opinions of those around him and instead chose to become one of the richest and most creative men in history. I hope you choose to believe in yourself and strive fo...

See What Humor Has Done to the Paralyzed Athlete, You'll Be Amazed atWhat Happened to Him

Image
With the right attitude and a touch of humor you can do what Mal Hancock did. Mal took the proverbial lemon of a paralyzing fall and turned that tragedy into real-life lemonade. Mal was in high school, facing a promising career in athletics, when a fall paralyzed him from the waist down. He endured some heartbreaking days trying to make the mental and physical adjustments. There are no guarantees, as Mal Hancock learned, that life will be a bed of roses. On the contrary, you can count on facing some very strange events, but if you learn to face the unexpected with humor and optimism, you too can come out on top. While in the hospital Mal began to draw the scenes around him. Rather than complain about the nurse waking him at 3:00 A.M. for a sleeping pill, he drew a cartoon about it that made the point with a laugh. Soon all the nurses in the hospital were coming by to see what Mal had chosen to draw. It wasn't long before he had sold one of those cartoons to a magazine. Th...

Why Some People Get Rich, Why Some People Stay Poor? Do You Know The Reason? What Could Be The Answer?

Image
Are you "Money Conscious" or "Poverty Conscious"? Poverty is attracted to the one whose mind is favorable to it, as money is attracted to him whose mind has been deliberately prepared to attract it, and through the same laws. Poverty consciousness will voluntarily seize the mind which is not occupied with the money consciousness. A poverty consciousness develops without conscious application of habits favorable to it. The money consciousness must be created to order, unless one is born with such a conscience.  Catch the full significance of the statements in the preceding paragraph, and you will understand the importance of persistence in the accumulation of a fortune. Without persistence, you will be defeated, even before you start. With persistence you will win. If you have ever experienced a nightmare, you will realize the value of persistence. You are lying in bed, half awake, with a feeling that you are about to smother. You are unable to tu...

Emotions of Sex Makes a Genius, Here's Why

Image
This post, will not be tackling sex as a moral issue, but as something that has an effect on our mind. In Napoleon Hill's book, he recognized that man is a sexual being, and with it may come some good things (transmutation).  To a lay man who is conservative, this post may be disturbing, but the book of Napoleon actually well defended what he is saying. This would somehow intrigued many, and perhaps, the reason why you are here, because you were curious what this post have to say. So let me just share what I've read from Napoleon's book "Think and Grow Rich".  Geniuses are created through the responses to stimuli. What are the stimuli to which the mind responds freely? The emotion of sex has back of it the possibility of three constructive potentialities. They are: The perpetuation of mankind. The maintenance of health (as a therapeutic agency, it has no equal). The transformation of mediocrity into genius through transmutation.  ...

31 Major Causes of Failure

According to Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" there are thirty-one major reasons or failure. As you go over the list, check yourself by it, point by point, for the purpose of discovering how many of these causes-of-failure stand between you and success. Unfavorable hereditary background. There is but little, if anything, which can be done for people who are born with a deficiency in brain power. This philosophy offers but one method of bridging this weakness - through the aid of the Master Mind. Observe with profit, however, that this is the only one of the thirty-one causes of failure which may not be easily corrected by any individual. Lack of a well-defined purpose in life. There is no hope of success for the person who does not have a central purpose, or a definite goal at which to aim. Ninety-eight out of every hundred of those whom I have analyzed had no such aim. Perhaps this was the major cause of their failure.  Lack of ambition to aim above medio...

11 Major Attributes of Leadership

Image
Today, I will be sharing to you the Major Attributes of Leadership according to Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" the following are important factors of leadership. Unwavering courage based upon knowledge of self, and of one's occupation. No follower wishes to be dominated by a leader who lacks self-confidence and courage. No intelligent leader who lacks self-confidence and courage. No intelligent follower will be dominated by such a leader very long. Self-control. The man who cannot control himself can never control others. Self-control sets a mighty example for one's followers, which the more intelligent will emulate. A keen sense of justice . Without a sense of fairness and justice, no leader can command and retain the respect of his followers. Definiteness of decision. The man who wavers in his decisions, show that he is not sure of himself, cannot lead others successfully. Definiteness of plans . The successful leader must plan his work, and...

Where's the Storm?

Image
It has been said that the smallest of boats is safe in the roughest of seas, just as long as none of that rough sea gets inside that small boat! Developing an attitude that attracts success is an inside job. you see, having a godly attitude does not mean you will never face problems or storms. I can't remember who wrote it, but an old poem I came across went something like this: One ship sails east and another  sails west, While the selfsame breezes blow. But it's the set of the sail and not the winds That determines where it will go. And as the storms rage on, as we journey through life, It will be the set of our hearts that determines where we go, Not the storms or strife. Your attitude is the set of your sail. You must choose the direction you want your life to travel and set your heart accordingly. There will be storms, but it will be your attitude toward those storms that drives you in one direction or another, not the storm itself. Each of us will be sur...

Tips on How to be Productive

Image
Today has been a great day! I have several things to do, but have accomplished them all today too! While I shared previously about the importance of making a decision , I just want to give my personal thoughts as an addition.  I have the following things lined up today: Be one of the adjudicators in the debate for the Philosophy class. Of course this requires my attention and explaining rules also coming up a verdict later on. Present our organizational development of an organization as a requirement in Human Resource Development. This requires presenting our evaluation and be ready for the questions that could possibly be thrown at us after the presentation. Attend a Board meeting . This requires my professional presence (of mind and body), while interacting, discussing (arguing), and coming up sound decisions for the organization. Attend class to consolidate work for the Management Information System research.  Submit requirements for Japanese Language. This...

Tips on Making Your Decision

Image
Analysis of over 25,000 men and women who had experienced failure disclosed the fact that lack of decision was near the head of the thirty-one major causes of failure. Procrastination, the opposite of decision, is a common enemy which practically every man must conquer.  Analysis of several hundred people who had accumulated fortunes well beyond the million-dollar mark disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of reaching decisions promptly, and of changing these decisions slowly, if, and when they were changed. People who fail to accumulate money, without exception, have the habit of reaching decisions, if at all, very slowly, and of changing these decisions quickly and often. One of Henry Ford's most outstanding qualities was his habit of reaching decisions quickly and definitely, and changing them slowly. This quality was so pronounced in Mr. Ford, that it gave him the reputation of being obstinate. It was this quality which prompted Mr. Ford to conti...

Three Feet From Gold

Image
One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat. Every person is guilty of this mistake at one time or another. An uncle of R. U. Darby was caught by the "gold fever" in the gold-rush days, and went west to dig and grow rich. He had never heard of that more gold has been mined from the thoughts of men than has he ever been taken from the earth. He staked a claim and went to work with pick and shovel.  After weeks of labor, he was rewarded by the discovery of of the shining ore. He needed machinery to bring the ore to the surface. Quietly, he covered up the mine, retraced his footsteps to his home in Williamsburg, Maryland, told his relatives and a few neighbors of the "strike." They got together money for the needed machinery, and had it shipped. The uncle and Darby went back to work the mine. The first car of ore was mined and shipped to a smelter. The returns proved they had one of the rich...

Thoughts Are Things

Image
Let me share to you Napoleon Hill's concept of thought turning into things. This is an excerpt from his book with which he gave a concrete and real example of "thought(s)" that eventually turned into "thing(s)". Truly "thoughts are things," and powerful things at that, when they are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a burning desire for their translation into riches, or other material objects. Some years ago, Edwin C. Barnes discovered how true it is that men really do think and grow rich. His discovery did not come about one sitting. It came little by little, beginning with a burning desire to become a business associate of the great Edison. One of the chief characteristics of Barnes' desire was that it was definite. He wanted to work with Edison, not for him. Observe carefully the description of how he went about translating his desire into reality, and you will have a better understanding of the prin...
