Count Your Blessings

This is a very good time to be living, because the "good ole days" may not have been so good after all.

Every generation has experienced it share of problems . Some people today emphasize the negative and forget the positive. One hundred years ago life expectancy was less than forty years; today we are expected to live to be over seventy-four.

Just a few years ago, polio was the fear of every mother when she sent her son or daughter to play during the hot summer months. Last year there were only eighty-six cases of polio reported in the US.

One hundred years ago men wore six-shooters, sanitation was primitive, childbirth was hazardous , and the bathroom was behind the house. Today we have more young people in college than ever before. we have more minority youth in college becoming doctors, lawyers, teachers, accountants, and ministers than ever.

As a matter of fact, we are living in a great era! It's a good time to be living, working, and raising a family. These are the "good ole days!"

For a few moments, think about these and complete them...

  1. Today I will count my blessings; five things I am especially grateful for are: (a) _______________, (b) __________, (c) ______________ , (d) __________________, (e) _________________.
  2. Today I will ______________________________________.
